Geocache Description:

This cache is multi cache of "Shell Mounds of Omori".
"Shell Mounds of Omori" is very famous archeology ruins in Japan and it must be described in the textbook of the history of Japan (Even the elementary school).

This ruins was discovered by American's zoologist Edward Sylvester Morse on June 19th,1877 and excavated by him at autumn of same year. He discovered it at a cliff, through the train's window on the way from Yokohama to Shinbashi at immediate passing Omori Station.
This excavation is called the beginning of event of archeology and the anthropology of Japan.

This multi cache starts from this ruins, "Omori Shell Mounds Garden".
The first stage is virtual cache. You will get hints of 2nd(final) stage by coming around this garden.

There is a guide board near by entrance of the garden.
First, let's go to meet the Dr. Morse . On the way to meet him, there are some wooden picnic-tables. How many picnic-tables are there ? ...(A)

You should descend the steps from the place where the picnic-tables are to the Dr. Morse. How many steps have you descended? ...(B)

Next, let's go to "Shell Mound Exhibision Booth" in the mist.
What number is this booth on the guide board? ...(C)

In the mist? Yes, It seems to be going to mist rises here ... for a fixed interval time. This interval is (D) hour.

At end, let's go to edge of the garden. There is a monument there.
(This monument faces outside of the park. It is a direction from Dr. Morse on the train.) Please measure coordinates of this monument... (E)

The coordinates of the final stage are these.
- Latitude N 35° 35.(C)(B)(A)
- It is 500x(D)m from (E) (In straight line distance)
- These two stages are in different Wards.

The place of final(2nd) stage is a division of about more than 4m by 4m.
You can catch it from where anyone usually can stay in this division.

このキャッシュは大森貝塚についてのマルチキャッシュです。
大森貝塚は小学校の社会の教科書にも必ず記載されている非常に有名な考古学遺跡です。

この遺跡は、アメリカ人の動物学者、エドワード・S・モースにより、1877年（明治10年）6月19日に発見され、その年の秋に発掘調査が行われました。彼は横浜から新橋へ向かう汽車に乗っていて、途中の大森駅を過ぎてから直ぐの崖に、汽車の窓ごしに発見しました。
この発掘は、日本の考古学・人類学の幕開けといわれます。

このマルチキャッシュはこの「大森貝塚遺跡庭園」から始まります。
ファーストキャッシュはバーチャルキャッシュです。
この庭園を巡ることで、ファイナル(2nd)キャッシュへの手がかりを得ることができます。

庭園の入り口正面には案内板があります。
まず、中央やや左にいる、モース博士に会いに行くことにしましょう。
その手前には木製のピクニックテーブルが幾つか置かれています。
ピクニックテーブルはいくつ置かれているでしょうか？ ...(A)

ピクニックテーブルの置かれている場所からモース博士に会うためには、
階段を下る必要がありますね。何段下ったでしょうか。 ...(B)

次に、霧の中を通って、「貝塚展示ブース」に行きましょう。
案内板でこのブースにつけられた番号は何番でしょうか？ ...(C)

霧？そうです、ここでは一定時間間隔で霧が発生するそうです。
一定時間間隔は、(D)時間です。

最後にこの庭園の隅にある、大森貝塚の碑に行きましょう。
(この大森貝塚の碑は、庭園の外側を向いています。それはモース博士が乗っていた汽車から見える方向なのです。）
