A creek surrounds this primitive camping area. Cacher will need to cross devise a way to avoid the local hazard to get to the cache. There is considerable foliage, but I was able to get at least 3 satellite locks at all times. The container is a newly refurbished Ammo Can. Please be sure and take great care in camouflaging the container when you replace it and watch for muggles. The little secluding camping spot is growing in popularity from when I found it years ago... this according to what I have heard. Thanks.
UPDATE: 03.18.2004 - Please be sure to rehide this cache very well once you locate it. This "camping spot" is getting more and more popular and now that Spring is upon us - the tents will come back out. Just be sure it is covered completely before leaving. THANKS!!!
UPDATE: 10.18.2009 - It has come to my attention that the can needs replacing. I am unable to get to that location right now and would like to work with another cacher to get that replaced. Please contact me through geocaching.com and we can work something out. I will update this listing again with a thank you note to the cacher that helps me keep this cache as nice as the location it is hidden. Thanks :)
UPDATE: 5/13/2010 - Broken Trowel contacted me before heading to WA cache stating he would do his best to replace the container. Once he got there, a control burn had all but destroyed the old cache. Lots of logs were lossed dating back many years now. BT called me asking for guidance in replacing the cache as he went to special trouble and effort (not being local to the area) to put a new cache together. We devised with my goals for the cache in mind and his onsite reconnaissance a new location that suits the cache well.
THANK YOU Broken Trowel for stepping up and helping to preserve this cache. It means so much to me. And I think a few other people in Louisiana. All my best, Phil.
THANK YOU to Bonsaai for refurbishing this historic cache!
