Very quick and easy cache, one muddy area which can be avoided. Boots may be required in wet times............ 21/09/10 Check my pics to see what it looke like overhead in 1948.
Area in front of the gunsite since cache placed has now become very chewed up due to cattle, please try to approach cache gz from an angle avoiding the muck and mud. This cache is placed at the site of the WW2 Mugdock gun battery, several of these batteries were built around the Clyde Valley after the Clydebank Blitz to protect the River Clyde industries from air attack.

Park at Kyber car park N 55 58.017 W 004 20.237 It is only a few minutes walk, the cache is not within the fenced gunsite area, access the cache site by skirting around the swampy bits beside the fenced area, it is located behind the fenced gunsite area in the orignal accomodation block, only the floors are still visible here, you will see there were many buildings here to accomodate over 70 people who mannned this site.
Either before or after finding cache take a look in the control bunker within fenced area (please use gate to access) it is in remarkable condition for it's age and for the most part is completely dry, good to see in original condition.
The four huge 3.8 inch gun emplacements are clearly visible with their surrounding ammo stores and shelters, all but one still with a roof, the guns were never fired.
