Crash-N-Burn Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

pdxmarathonman: I want to again thank Waterboss for his wonderful maintenance on my behalf. I think that since this cache is now older than my daughter was when she was here that I can "let it go". This is such a great rest-stop! I am glad that Waterboss is anxious to get his very own cache placed here!

Thanks for all the fond memories!

Cheers,
pdxmarathonman

Geocache Description:

On our return from 2002 Spring Break vacation in Kelowna BC back to Portland, we stopped for a potty break about 50 miles prior to finding "Tippie's Grave' cache (since archived).

Note: This cache is accessible southbound only.

This was a nice place to stretch our legs as there was a nice path to look at the bridge that we had just crossed. On our way over to look into the canyon and view the bridge I was explaining to my 8 1/2 year-old daughter about arches and the strength they provide in bridge construction. Well, she must have been fully engrossed in looking at the bridge and thinking about everything I was telling her when a nasty buckle in the blacktop path tripped her up. She looked like she was going to catch her fall and end up with scuffed hands, but somehow the descending trail betrayed her reach and she did a face-plant. Now she sports a lovely scuff under her left eye and bruises above and below, as well as scratched lips, left nostril and wrist. The Easter photos should be lovely ;-)

I wasn't originally planning to plant a cache here, but after her incident I felt like some sort of tribute was necessary. Hence the name. I really hope that more and more rest area (or at least easy "road-trip" ) caches get placed. It's a wonderful addition to a long drive.

Have a nice trip!
Please be discreet when finding the cache. It is in a new location as of 11/1/2002. It has been stolen from a previous location.
