I don't think I've ever met winnlesspete. Maybe once at an event, but I don't remember. But I do know a few things about him:
-
He has this strange fascination with yarn dolls, especially a travelbug named PeetiePie
-
He's somewhat of a pyromaniac when it comes to PeetiePie & his friends
-
He's a South Jersey geocacher, so it's pretty certain his real name is not Pete
-
He's trying to get his hands on PeetiePie so he can burn him, while DitsyB (who's neither ditsy nor blonde, so she must be a South Jersey geocacher as well) is trying to keep PeetiePie away from him.
I snagged PeetiePie exactly one year ago, then promptly lost him - probably dropped him on the trail. I feel really bad about it. But recently, I received this note in the mail:
Please help save PeetiePie. Stop by this cache and drop off a Travel Bug or Geocoin for his ransom. There will be a reward in the cache if you do. If "Pyro Pete" drops the PeetiePie travelbug off in a cache you find after the ransom is paid, please move him along to other caches, one step ahead of winnlesspete, or return him here so DitsyB can get him back. But whatever you do, please don't tell Winnlesspete where PeetiePie is.
Be careful when searching the area as there is a steep drop-off towards the river. The cache is not hidden on the steep slopes. There was snow on the ground when this was hidden, so a "typical piney hide" was not possible, so please make sure you cover up the container so it's not exposed.
