Since I first hid this cache in 2003 the Bear Camp Road has
received a lot of negative press. I believe this is the end result
of the new mapping software electronics companies putting the road
on their maps without adequately explaining that it is a seasonal
and one lane road. Then people from out of the area try to use the
road in the wrong season, without experience on backcountry roads,
and get into trouble. This cache is not on the Bear Camp Road, but
it is on one of the side roads.
That being said, I was taking a drive in the country one day in
the late summer of 2003, and ended up somewhere on Peavine
Mountain. While I was up there I tried to find the Peavine Fire
Lookout, but the sedan I was driving that day did not have enough
ground clearance. What the heck, it's purty up there and I had a
cache in the trunk all ready to place, so I did. If you manage to
find the Peavine Lookout and take a picture of it and post it here,
I will give you 10,000 Bonus Points. The points are not good for
anything, but you get them. heh.
