Geocache Description:

Metropark Geocaching Adventure 2010

A Metroparks Geocaching Adventure 2010 Picnic Cache

In years long gone, too many for the almanac or calendar to tell of, or for clocks and watches to measure, millions of good fairies came down from the sun and went into the earth. There, they changed themselves into roots and leaves, and became trees. There were many kinds of these, as they covered the earth. Today, many fairies still inhabit in the woods, using their magical powers and mischievous ways to protect their ancestors and all of nature's plants and creatures.

The Lesidhe – Nature spirits who, disguised as foliage, are the guardians of forests, and all that inhabit them. They are most active at dawn and dusk throughout the spring and summer. Though they are active all day and night they tend to favor the night. The masters of shape shifting, Lesidhe can transform themselves into any plant or animal, of any shape or size, and make any sound of the forest. They are said to use this talent to mischievously lead travelers astray, disliking humans for the way they’ve treated the environment, though they’ve never harmed anyone.

This is one of eleven Geocaches placed for the 7th Annual Metroparks Geocaching Adventure 2010 Picnic. It will be in place from September 11 until mid-December.

The cache is in a 3.5 x 4.5 x 2.0 inch clear plastic Lock & Lock box.
