Geocache Description:

In association with the Countryside Services Department, Flintshire county Council. Wales second annual CITO Event and after event get-together, on the 23rd of July, at 09:15.

Welcome to Wepre Country Park, mentioned in the doomsday book as "forest" home to 3 caches and Ewloe Castle believed to have been built by Llywelyn ap Gruffydd, and which must be one of the most unusualy located castles anywhere.

Wepre Park was suggested as a suitable location for a CITO Event by Flintshire CC Countryside Services, after I requested that they nominate suitable locations. As they are pro caching I saw this as a way of showing them another side of Geocaching.

The coordinates are for the meeting point and are located in the car park of Wepre Park. The Event is planned to start at 09:30hrs, with a meeting time of 09:15hrs, and is planned to finish at approx 11:30hrs. All equipment is being supplied by the Rangers based in the park, who will be present during the event.

The after event get-together venue has had to be changed!!!!

The new location is the Boars Head, Ewloe, N53°11.540 W003°03.325. Our host Mike and Emma have very kindly stepped in by agreeing to accommodate us with less than 48hrs notice. And are bring their chief in especialy to cater for us! We have asked for Steak and Ale pie, Scampi, Gammon, Chicken burgers and Beef Burgers, and there will be a children's meal available, also they are prepared to make up Sandwiches as well.

I will be raffling off 2 TB tags and a US Geocoin to raise a few pennys for the British Heart Foundation. If any one has any Geocaching related items they would like to donate I would be very grateful!
