Starting from the giant bridge at Ðurdevica Tara on river Tara on
the Žabljak-Pljevlja road, there is a delightful ~20km ride through
the Tara canyon. (We recomned bike). The road goes on but there in
the embracement of the sky and the mountains you are about to
discover a little jewel in the canyon - 16th century monastery. The
place looks like the time stands still in it's silence and peace.
Beneth the monastery you will find nice meadow on which northern
end you will seek for cache. Don't let the graves lying around stop
you, we asked, and it's ok to go. One thing that we learned is that
local nuns don't like to be disturbed and specialy NOT
photographed. Please respect their desicion.
By finding your own path you can find a nice little beach down
at the river. It is steep but well worthed way. When in the area
you will probobaly notice that you are some 25km from Durmitor
mountain. MUST SEE. Beautiful. Go to Žabljak and you will find
there all info you need.
Small note on cache maintenance: We have a house
on the island of Hvar in Croatia, where we go approx. 5-6 times a
year. It' s not far from there to the cache.
