These are NOT THE CACHE COORDINATES, but the location of an historic marker from which you will obtain the necessary information to determine the cache location. The actual cache, consisting of a 4x4x6 inch plastic jar, is located within 500 feet of the marker location.
This is another in our series of historic caches in the Palo Alto area (Ref: Historic Palo Alto - GCA001 and Historic Palo Alto 2 - GCBAB7). Although this one is not in Palo Alto, it is particularly significant to Kay and me for it is the place we met in 1957 at a Stanford graduate mixer organized by Kay!
This historic roadhouse served for a time as a gambling den, but mostly it’s been a popular watering hole for travelers. It is well known to locals, Stanford students, horseback riders, bikers and cyclists, particularly on weekends when it is hopping with camaraderie.
The cache location is at: N37 22.ABC, W122 11.DEF
ABC is determined by adding 121 to the last three digits of the approximate year the structure was built.
DEF is determined by subtracting 285 from the last three digits of the year the place was acquired by an American.
