Falls of the Ohio State Park. A nice and short walk from the car for the whole family.
The Shannon Family that originally placed this cache in March of 2001 has moved from the area and is no longer able to maintain this cache. They have allowed the Camping Hoosiers the honor of adopting this cache so that it can be maintained and remain active. Camping Hoosiers has allowed Kayak-Cowboy to take the honor of having this cache. Deermark now has the honor of maintaining this wonderful piece of Geocaching history. This is an important cache due to it's age and history. If you read the logs you will find that many of our local cachers found this cache either as a first find or at least early in their caching careers. I'm not sure where this cache ranks now... but is certainly one of the oldest in the state. I think fifth oldest last time I checked. Take time to read through some of the on line posts. Its kind of amusing to see the likes of SMTC and DeerMark posting here while they were rookies! This cache has been replaced as of 01/18/04. The new container is a 30 caliber ammo can. (Cache container has been Muggled. Thanks goes out to ARF for replacing cache with a Small Lock & Lock. 4/24/2015) This cache has also been moved from the original location. The listed coordinates are the new location. Hopefully this location will not be as prone to flooding. Since this is a new location. Have fun.
