One of the 14 caches in the now archived Shore to Shore Geochallenge.
The Michigan Shore-To-Shore Trail begins at Lake Michigan in Empire and ends more than 200 miles east at Lake Huron near Oscoda. The trail was created and is maintained by the Michigan Trail Riders Association in cooperation with the DNR. Closed to motorized traffic, it passes through meadows and forests where possible and uses roadside shoulders where necessary.
This is a popular camp as it is easy to get to and has some great views of the Manistee River which flows past it. Stage one, which is a camo-ed round Altoids tin, will take you to some of these views near the river’s edge. It can be a high muggle area if the campground is in use, so please use your best stealth techniques when searching for it so its location is not compromised. Stage two will require a hike through the campground and along the trail of about 1.20 miles round trip unless you choose to drive closer. As always, please be sure to replace the containers and their camo as you found them, or better.
