The cache that I had originally placed for an outdoor activity
has finally disappeared. It was under a pile of lumber wood near
the monument. I'm still wondering how the cache stayed for more
than a year!
You can leave your car at the Apollinaire monument, at
N50° 25.860 E6° 00.740.
What does this monument do here? According to several sources,
and more specifically Captain Cook: "In the summer of 1899 the
19-years old Wilhelm von Kostrowitzky, later known as Guillaume
Apollinaire, got to know the forests and the beautiful lansdcape
around Stavelot while his mother spent her time (and her money) in
the local casino."
More info about Guillaume Apollinaire can be found here (english) or here
(french).
