Geocache Description:

The great vista point. You can enjoy to see the Pacific ocean from here. Stay away from the edge of the cliff.

There are two routes. I recommend the route that is started from the right side of the notice board. Please see the photo. It is very hard to walk on another route that is started from the left side. It has steps at first part. There is a possibility that you lose the route especially in warm seasons. I hope you to come here with well-furnished clothing and boots. Since there is no parking space, it is better to come to the entrance of the path by bicycle or motorbike.

14th March, 2011
At this time, I can not visit the point of the cache. As you know, in the afternoon of last Friday, the earthquake occurred in north eastern Japan.I want to visit again one day.Thank you every geocachers in the world for your comforting word.

31st March, 2011
I visited HANABUCHIZAKI this morning. HANABUCHIZAKI is in Shichi-ga-hama town. “Shichi” means “seven”, and “hama” means “beach”. So, this town has many beaches. The beach near the cache is named HANABUCHI-HAMA. The area suffered catastrophic damage by tsunami on 11th of March. In Shichigahama town, 55 lives were confirmed dead, and 19 persons were disappeared.(at the end of March) I was speechless to look around here. I only could pray for them to rest in peace.
The cache is still alive. At this place, I heard the surf, only surf. The sea was looked same as usual. I had a hard time accepting that the event had happened.

I am the owner of over one hundred geocaches in Northeastern Japan called TOHOKU region. (Fukushima, Miyagi, Akita, Iwate, Yamagata, and Aomori.) After the disaster in March 11, 2011, I decided to make a donation for the disaster victims of the Great East Japan Earthquake of one thousand yen per one visitor who found one of them. And now, the number of visitors who found them was over one thousand (accurately 1042 visitors) in a time between the day of the disaster and September 11, 2013. So, I made a donation of JPY 60,000 in October 2011, JPY 50,000 in December 2011, JPY20,000 in March 2012, JPY110,000 in July 2012, JPY190,000 in October 2012, JPY190,000 in January 2013, JPY70,000 in April 2013, JY300,000 in August 2013 and JY52,000 in October 2013. (Total amount is JY1,042,000). I appreciate very much that the geocachers visiteded and found my caches in TOHOKU region. I hope many geocachers to come and visit my geocaches in Northeastern Japan in the future.
