Geocache Description:

This cache is an easy park and grab, on a beautiful scenic road less than 4 miles from hwy 79.

The listed coordinates will take you to the Standing Rock Creek and over a single-lane, concrete-arch bridge built in 1929. The idea of this cache is the bridge itself, which is the only one in Stewart County registered as "historic." It was built by the Luten Bridge Company of Knoxville, TN, which is known for building many bridges of this type in the early 20th century.

When bridges need TLC, as everything man-made does, it is common practice in our country to tear them down and build something new. Evidence of this can be seen by the massive bridge which crosses the Tennessee River north of Standing Rock, on hwy 79. It is a crime to loose these treasures.

The cache is just a log and pencil, hidden across the bridge at the base of a large tree (right next to pull-off). This cache is definitely kid friendly, and although quick to score, you might want to stay and play. Stealth may be required as muggles frequent the area. If you keep traveling up the road past the bridge, there is a fun place to eat.
