Leaping
From Cache To Cache Event
The goal of this event is to get together
with other geocachers, and get a cache, or more on a leap year
because it only comes once every four years and we all want to fill
our calendars right! This is all about getting that elusive 366th
cache that we all have been waiting patiently for the last 4
years.
On this road there is over 100 caches to be
found, 30 of them on a hike, the rest are park and grabs. All are
on what I have been told is a very beautiful and peaceful road of
Buck Creek
My goal for the day is to get a minimum of 29
caches on the 29th, but if I can I would like to break 100 caches
in a single day, and my personal best.
The arrangement is to start the morning with
an event at 8:30 with a meet and greet while we wait for others to
arrive, until 9am at which time we will proceed to do a hike
consisting of BC#0 through BC#31 (Big Rock Candy Mountain) which I
have been told is a very flat easy (almost wheelchair accessible)
walk, at BC#31 we will stop to enjoy the view and have a
brunch/snack before we head back and return to our cars. When we
return to our cars we will continue our cache hunt back out doing
BC-1 and all the reset of the caches on our way out until either
time runs out or we complete the series all the way back to Coffee
Cache.
This will be an all day event (about 8 hours)
if you choose to do it all, or a short 30 minutes meet and greet,
or if you only want to do the hike this should only take about 4
hours. Total travel is about 30 miles return of which the hike is
about 5 miles (return) the rest is road.
I invite everyone who owns a
signal frog to bring it on the hike and at the break we will have a big group picture and one with all the
signals to mark our Signal Frog Leap Year Cache Event.
