This was the fourth in a series of 5 caches set along the Federation Walking Trail
Now it is the only one of the five remaining
The Federation Trail traverses the south-eastern flanks of the Mt Lofty Ranges, starting in Murray Bridge and winding through diverse countryside to the township of Tungkillo.
I thought at least one of this series should involve a hike so this was the one.
This area of the trail passes through private property so please keep to the marked trail.
When placing I approached from the north-west and it was a very enjoyable 6.5 km round trip with some great views. It is possible to take a much shorter route in from the south-east but some walking will still be required.
Maps of the Federation trail are available from most outdoor stores and map shops.
Cache container is a clear plastic 2L sistema clip-top container, containing log and pencil plus an assortment of swaps. And there's a nice view from up there too.
