I'm testing a new concept with my caches with a high difficultly rating. I always provide hints with my caches as I want you to find it. Some of my hints may be a bit cryptic (especially the higher difficultly caches) but there's one there.
My first solution for providing Progressive Hints has a problem. The problem is that the program that sends the emails runs on my home computer. When I'm away from home, my computer is off. This is the proverbial wet blanket.
This cache has available a system that I call "Progressive Hints". How this works is fairly simple. You click the "Progressive Hints" link below to send an email. A reply is sent back to you. In the body of the email you will see a vague hint. Then if you scroll down you'll see another hint that's more helpful. There will be several hints until the last one which will be a dead give away. Stages of a multi will each have this series of hints in the same email. Scroll down as far as you needed to. This will hopefully reduce the number of trips needed. If you have a phone that can send and receive emails you'll most likely only need one trip.
How to use:
1.) Click this link Progressive Hints to send a request for the Progressive Hints.
2.) You should get the reply in short order.
Please contact me via my profile if you have any problems or comments.
WHO?
Bill & Gary are two employees from Stony Creek Metropark that decided to place some very challenging and unique caches beginning in May 2002. These caches were multi caches with anywhere from 4 to 9 stages and generally required a full days work to complete. Just check out these caches to see some of the logs for these unforgettable caches:
Bill & Gary's Excellent Adventure
Bill & Gary's Excellent Adventure II
Bill & Gary's Excellent Adventure III
Bill & Gary's Excellent Adventure IV
This cache is my attempt to honor Bill & Gary. Their caches gained popularity rapidly as each year went on. Their clever hides challenged cachers from across the state. I hope you will enjoy finding this cache and that it can compare to a Bill & Gary's hide.
When I started caching in 2004 with my son, we tried to find the first stage of their 3rd cache. We didn't find it and to our regrets never went back to try again. The next year we did complete their cache and were truly impressed. I've described their caches as five two stage caches wrapped up into one. The "Bill & Gary's Tribute" caches that I'm placing will all follow the format of:
1st Stage: A small lock-n-lock with a business card that will provide you with the waypoint and a hint for the 2nd stage and a hint for the final. Please take a single card per group.
2nd Stage: A brass disk with the waypoint for the final.
Final: A regular size container.
Please be careful when looking for any of these caches. Be respectful of the area. There will be no need to tear apart the landscape. Replace each stage as you found it so the fun (or torture) will be the same for the next cacher.
Please remember to "Cache In and Trash Out".
