At this upper entrance to Wunderlich Park you can pick up the Skyline Trail going into the park or going northwest over to Huddart Park. If you take the trail into the park, you will soon come to a particulary interesting tree (which we think is a Douglas fir). The cache is a medium-size camo'ed plastic container near this tree. You do NOT have to climb or touch the big tree at all to find the cache! There is poison oak in the area, and you may have to step over some to get to the cache, which is a few steps off the trail.
Near the Skyline Trailhead, close to sunset
Please rehide well. There are lots of equestrians and joggers along this part of the trail.
If it's a windy day, you may want to think twice about visiting this cache! You'll know what we mean when you see it!
GPS reception was pretty spotty here, so the coordinates may not be great. We averaged many readings at the cache site, as well as evaluating them against readings taken at areas both up and down the trail with better reception. We've put more description about the cache site on this page since it's a hard spot to get good coordinates.
Park hours are 8am to sunset. Please respect Park hours and cache only during those times.
Standard Park notices apply; there are mountain lions, snakes, ticks, and poison oak in the park. Be prepared.
