The Splinter Group has jumped on the backs of the CCGC and GBA
for a weekend of hiking, campfires, friendship, and yes even a
little good old fashioned hard work.
Since they have set up the work portion of the festivities for
us to all enjoy (please see
“Yosemite Midsummer VIP/CITO Event: Tuolumne Meadows”
(GCXW3K) we figured we would add to the fun and
relaxation.
So we would like to invite one and all (whether helping at the
CITO event or just in the park for fun) to a fun evening of telling
tales of your favorite caches and spooky stories around the
campfire.
Note: This event is open to all cachers young and old but the
free passes and camping are provided for those working the VIP/CITO
event.
The Splinter Group will have a modest supply of wood,
marshmallows, graham crackers, chocolate, and skewers. Please bring
extras to share with your fellow cachers.
The festivities will start on the evening of July 21 around 7:30
pm and continue into the evening until the last soul fades away to
sleep. Sunset is around 8:26pm.
Looking forward to seeing you around the campfire.
Check back for updated information as we get closer to the
event.
(update 7/21) Thank you to Scoobert and Calkids for taking over
this event due to a recent run in with our slithery "friends".
