Geocache Description:

Flat terrain, accessible via steps from 15th Street or via gentle paved path from 17th Street.

The Inn is large (an ammo box) so you will never see a No Vacancy sign. Travel Bugs enjoy the ambiance and swapping their travel tales here. When it is time to check out, it is also time to check in -- meaning: if you take one Travel Bug, then please replace it with another. The Inn also features trade goodies for those who arrive without a Travel Bug. You will find both on-street parking and a large free public parking garage adjacent to the grounds of the Inn.

The grounds feature a playing field, colorful foliage, and some interesting curiosities. Look over the fence for the backyard structure with the ornamental turret; you'll never lack for knowing which way the wind blows. Also, look for the tree growing a pipe.

The Inn is convenient to Glebe Road, and to the Glebe Road and Fairfax Drive exits of Interstate 66 in Arlington VA. Closest Metro stops are Ballston and Virginia Square, both on the Orange line in Arlington.

Cautions of which the Innkeepers are aware:

1. A popular flea market occupies the parking garage and overloads the street parking on the first Saturday of each month during April to November. On those days, use alternative parking on 17th Street, north of the grounds.
2. The playing field is used for practice and games by local soccer teams in April, May, September and October. Practices are on weekdays from 4 PM to sundown, and games from 8 AM to 5 PM on weekend days.
3. A public high school with roughly 1,500 students is located nearby. Traffic becomes chaotic when school commences and dismisses during the school year, at roughly 8 AM and 3 PM.
4. Observe High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) restrictions on Interstate 66 during weekday rush hours (eastbound 6:30 - 9 AM and westbound 4 - 6:30 PM).
