This is a puzzle cache. The coordinates shown are not the cache
location but do indicate the general vicinity of the cache site.
You will need to find three other locations to collect the
information necessary to find Chris's Cache.
In the recommended order, you need to find the
Along A Road Less Traveled Cache where you will find the
latitude for Chris's Cache (with one small omission). For
your convenience, a number of printed clue slips have been placed
in the cache.
Next, in Armstrong Woods State Park, you need to find the Blind
Trail (N 38° 32.234 W 123° 00.427) and count the number of bronze
plaques along the trail. Note: be sure to follow the guide
rope -- otherwise, you may miss some. When you have completed
your count, you should have a two-digit number. The first
digit of this total is A and the second digit is B. For
example, presuming that you find 17 plaques, then A equals 1 and B
equals 7. You will need these figures to complete the
latitude and longitude clues.
Last, you need to find the
Pool Ridge Trail cache where you will find the longitude for
Chris's Cache (again, with a small omission). For your
convenience, a number of printed clue slips have been placed in the
cache.
At this point and with this information, you should be in
roughly the proper location to search for Chris's Cache. The
cache itself is a Rubbermaid container painted camo and contains a
log book, pen and various trinkets (many with an Easter theme,
including two porcupine eggs)
Note: Chris's Cache also contains a set of printed notes
giving the clues necessary to find
Ethan's Cache and, from there, you can search for
Larry’s Grüner Petz-Baum Cache.
December, 2007 update:
This cache was in a burned out area that needs some recovery time.
Unfortunately, it is also a link in a chain of puzzle caches. So,
when you've received the longitude from Pool Ridge Trail for Chris'
Cache, subtract .163 from it for Ethan's Cache. I'm just going to
give you the latitude: 38° 33.551
