There are over a dozen different Superior Court locations in Santa Clara County. Only a few, all in or near
downtown San Jose, are represented here. A recent state law consolidated the Municipal and Superior Courts and
funded them through state, rather than county, sources. The volume and variety of cases may be quite surprising
to you. This quiz is intended to acquaint you with this very important agency.
The coordinates given above are not the actual cache coordinates. To obtain the correct ones, you have to complete
the table below. The line number, Name of Court, and Address are all correct, but the typical matters handled and
Judge or Commissioner names have been placed in the wrong rows. Leaving the first three columns as is, match the
judges and matters handled with the correct building, fill in the correct Department (Courtroom) number in the
rightmost column, then follow the directions below the table. All the information you need can be found on the
pages of the court's website.

The cache is located at N 37° 20.ABC W 121° 53.DEF. To get A-F:
J = the sum of all the Department numbers in the above table.
K= the missing Department number at the Terraine St. Annex.
ABC = J - K.
W = the sum of the Department numbers of all the Commissioners listed in the table.
X = the line number of the building listed above where probate and civil matters are heard.
Y = the Department number on line 6
Z = the line number where Judge Manley's name appears
DEF = (W x X) - (Y x Z)
The cache seems to have been removed by overzealous maintenance people. I am making this a Virtual since it doesn't look like I can replace a canister in the same location any time soon. To claim the cache, email me a description of the two closest buildings to this location, and tell me what you are standing in when at the coordinate location.
