The Juniper Springs Recreational Area is about 30 miles east of Ocala. The will be the beginning of your adventure. Short of bushwacking through miles of dense forest, the only approach to this one is by canoe or 'yak. Canoes and shuttle service can be arranged at the park. There is also camping and a large recreational area at the head of the springs, where you can swim in the crystal clear spring waters.
The park calls this a 4 hour trip, it took the dog 5, but dogs don't hurry. Bring a lunch.
This spring run starts shallow ( several inches), lots of twists and turns. Awesome cypress and hardwood forest and grassy praries. Saw 2 dear on the trip and a black bear the night before. Lots of birds and other wildlife. The dog likes it wild. The cashe is located on the left bank of the creek near the confluence of another smaller spring run. (You will see many of these smaller springs flowing in along the way) There is a landing area here. The cashe is located on the right bank of this smaller spring run. It is at the base of a large tree covered with a palm leaf, right next small creek.
NOTE: The left and right bank are not determined just by standing there and seeing is which is right and left. It is based on the flow of water which is the right and left. What'd you think I was gonna do, give this to you on a silver dog-dish?? Now do your homework and dig it.
Cache is an ammo box filled with the same old $1 store crap and bad cd's I burn.

Edit to add: To find this cache, follow these simple steps: As you drift down Juniper Springs Run, watch your distance to destination. At about 100', look for a small muddy stream on your left. Go up this stream as far as you can, and exit your boat to the right shore. Look for an oak tree near the edge of the stream, with ribbed roots. There are cabbage palms growing on both sides of this oak tree. Check the root gap between the oak and the further cabbage palm. If the can is buried by leaves, find the tether and pull it out.
