Cache is hidden in The Apalachicola National Forest(Tree Farm). It can be approached from several directions but all require either a long hike or some type of off road vehicle. Due to dry weather and skill I was barely able to get within 50 yards of the cache site in my 4x4 without engaging four-wheel drive...BEWARE this can be a serious challenge for a non-4 wheel drive vehicle.
Cache is located 5 inches north of a small(3inch thick) pine tree and is in a clear tupperware-type container with a dark blue top. Measures roughly 8"x12"x4", buried under 1 inch of sand to protect it in the event of a "Prescribed Burn" by the forest service. Numbers are from a 20 minute averaged fix and should be very accurate(Garmins usually are).
This cache has kid type toys in it including: Cache note, Plastic Egg, Toy Chicken, Seashell, Kalidescope, pez dispenser, Harry Potter trinket, 101 Dalmations figurine, Highlighter, Pens, Pencil, Log-Book and a sealed 16 oz bottle of Aquafina water for whoever needs it.
It may be a bit of challenge to find a way to this cache since it includes several miles of twisting/turning off-road trails and the entrances aren't obvious but are legal for motorized vehicles. Just follow the numbers and you can get within 50 yards before you have to leave your vehicle and walk the rest of the way. Approching this cache via direct-line hiking would be a NIGHTMARE.
I'd love to hear from anyone who makes it to this cache...Then I'll know I should place a more challenging one...
