A dedicated travel bug portal for Oakland Airport. All TBs
launching out of Oakland or just passing through will find
temporary shelter here.
Nothing tricky here… in fact this cache is designed to be as
fast, EASY and yet secure as possible given the available terrain.
Cache is literally about 50’ off the Swan Way road. Cache is a .50
cal ammo can hidden near the entrance of “Martin Luther King Jr.
Regional Shoreline Park” near Oakland Intl. Airport off Swan Way.
CoolCache would love to place it closer to the airport but the Port
Authority’s long barren access roads to the airport and the
inherent security concerns make that difficult. If you have a car
and you're driving to the airport, this one's real quick too.
Trading Guidelines: Please one-for-one trades preferred unless
you have special circumstances...then it's ok. Definitely NO
cleanouts as that's inconsiderate for the next cachers who are
often out-of-towners making a special visit. LMK if any bug or coin
is MIA and I will mark it as missing.
You can park at the park’s entrance lot during the hours of
5am-10pm or 24/7 at N 37° 43.822 W 122° 12,516 (on the side of
Doolittle Rd) for a short walk to the cache.
"T Buggin’" is designed for TB trades only please. Exchange TBs
freely making sure you log the trades on their individual websites.
Please no non-TB items in this particular cache. Also please ensure
ammo can is hidden well again to help protect the little travelers.
For unrestrained trades of all sorts, visit CoolCache’s very nearby
Tsunami just up the road in the same
park.
Also this cache will frequently portal to CoolCache's Tour of Duty cache in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Also this cache has spawned some copy cats too. Check out GCWAQ1
too... cool. And finally certain travel bugs will earn a
"Totally Buggin" visitation tag.
6/4/05 >>>>>> Container upgraded to larger .50
cal ammo box for more room :)
7/10/05 >>>>>> Now two easy ways in: 1) From
the West, up or around red brick wall from parking lot located in
park. Best daytime route. 2) If coming from east from Swan Way,
look for reflective white dots on fence for entry point. With the
latest clear cutting, it's easy access.
