Well since Mayfly22 started hiding a few caches in the area, it got me thinking about the time i took a youth group up this hill. We were looking for the old Lookout tower, but ended up high on some rock slide area at about 1600'. on the way back we found where we took the wrong turn and successfully found the old Lookout foundation.
The trail NEAR THE TOP was there, but now due to 2012 winter's ice storm, the trail has been blocked by downed trees. To get to the top I suggest that you hike up the trail to waypoint N45 41.206,W121 43.878. There is a big (2.5' dia.) tree next to the trail. From there go straight up the hill side to using the geocache waypoint to avoid all the downed trees. The trail ends at a small observation point built to observe landslides on Wind Mountain, on the Washington side of the Gorge. Then when you find the Lookout take out the gps and find your treasure. The cache is near the lookout.
