Geocache Description:

New bridge, new cache!

The bridge at Sheeder Mill Road was built in 1887 and was the first iron bridge in East Vincent Township. The bridge was rebuilt in 2009-2010. Four other historic bridges with construction of either iron and/or varied construction design also provide access over French Creek. These include Wilson’s Corner (1835), Hallman’s (1854), Cooks Glen (1897), and Tyson’s Mill (1905). You are looking for a small camo'd plastic container, so please reseal completely. The original cache placement included a mini pencil, but it might be a good idea to bring a pen/pencil along. Park where the fisher-folk park; along side of the road on the Pughtown side of the bridge. Please be careful on the other side (uphill side) of the bridge as some of the roadway has washed into the creek and the resulting dropoff is steep. This area is heavily used for fishing, so beware of muggles! May require some light bush-wacking depending on the time of year depending on which side you use to access. There is an easier way and a way that requires more bush-wacking. You pick :-) There are paths to explore along the creek, so ENJOY!! CONGRATS to wnelvrs for the FTF!!
