Geocache Description:

Bit of a walk. Take water and good walking shoes (or mule if you have one.) No real bushwhackin' required.

Old Jake died leaving nothin' but the tale of finding riches in the hills and an old photo of his digs. As close as we can tell his trail started at what is now the crossroads of Lindero Canyon Road and Alberson Fire Road. Traveling south on Lindero you quickly find the NPS boundry and entry gate. Old Jake followed the old fenceline west a ways. Not much of the fence left so you will have to do the best you kin. At that point he drove a spike in the ground which as been replace with a BM. To get to his digs from the BM, travel 0.238 miles on a course of 45 degrees (true). Gall dern if you won't have to figger out how to git your GPS to git you there by convertin bits of a mile to degrees and minutes I recon.
In the lower left corner of the old photo is the tin box left by Jake. Mind you don't rile the old rattler that shares the hole with the box.
