A walk around Greenscoe - a series of four caches placed at interesting locations and good viewpoints on an enjoyable round walk from Greenscoe near Askam. The walk is about 3 miles long and takes the walker along quiet bridleways, cycle tracks and field paths in an area of varied and interesting countryside with great views along the way. The walk passes close to two other caches as well. Parking is available on the verges of the brickworks and Greenscoe roads off the A590. Paths can be muddy after rain but otherwise it's easy and pleasant walking. Watch out for the traffic when you cross over the main road.
From Greenscoe, cross the A595 and head down the access road to the brickworks (west side of the A595). Head straight on past the brickworks entrances and you cannot miss the track.
Cache 1 is placed near an attractive pond in the trees alongside the cycle path through to Thwaite Flat. This cache is situated within a few feet of the track but is well hidden. Please ensure that the cache hiding place remains well disguised. The cache is a film canister.
If you are heading to the second cache then follow the cycle track through the farm and up the steep little hill, at the top of which turn left through the field.
