This is the 3rd year we have had an organized clean up in this area. The first year was not a CITO but we had a good turn out of locales that year and they worked very hard. After the event was done that year we had collected up 3 large garbage bins of stuff that had been dumped in the area. Sense then the area has stayed pretty clean. Last years event we based out of a different spot and that was our 1st CITO for those that came out we managed a large garbage bin but what you may not of known was we had a small group of locales that spent the day at Black Creek cleaning and after that event I picked up a load that filled the back of my pick-up truck and added that to our bin.
This area is very close to our hearts we spent many a day here as kids and now bring our kids, grandkids ,nieces and nephews here. There is a fishing area ,a boat ramp and lots of trails to hike. There is a great amount of wild life in the area everything from beaver to ducks ,turtles and lots of other interesting critters. Last year there was construction in the area which seen a new water line put through along the edge of the park however it left the area very muddy and it could use some TLC. So I would suggest boots and gloves along with any other tool you may think will come in handy in the clean up.
I wish we could of gotten this out earlier but the snow finally melted enough to allow us to see what we would be up against. We will be there earlier in the day ourselves but the event runs as noted above but feel free to come out and enjoy some of the trails before and after event.
