Geocache Description:

Part of the Crowley series of caches at Crowley Museum and Nature Center

This is a cache in the Crowley series consisting of eight caches located around the trails and facilities at Crowley Museum and Nature Trails. This cache is located near the small series of walkway bridges that pass over Crowley Creek who’s quiet crystal clear waters wind around the marsh land areas of the park. There have been many a creature spotted in this area so a few geocachers won’t change the scenery.

There is also a key marker inside this cache with a letter on it. Keep track of the letter that is inside this cache (and be sure to mark WHICH cache that letter was in) as it is part of the clues that you will need in order to find the full sized bonus cache The Call of Crowley.

Crowley Museum and Nature Center is a 185 acre facility is located in the Old Myakka area containing a couple of miles of hiking trails that move you from pine flatwoods, thru oak hammocks, along swamp lands, thru a marsh along the Myakka River, up an observation tower and much of it along a wooden boardwalk. The trails remain open throughout the year and the boardwalk moves you safely over all wetlands. You can read all about Crowley by clicking (visit link)

The hours at Crowley are Thursday thru Sunday from 10 am until sundown. They are closed
Easter, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Admission is $6.50 for Adults, $4.50 for Students and Seniors, $2 for Kids 5 – 12; under five are free. It is well worth the admission which supports Crowley and all its' programs. Also, if you happen by here on a day they and not normally open we would suggest giving them a call as if they are at the facility they will open it for visitors :O)

This series of caches was placed with the full approval of Laney Poire, the Executive Director of the facility. If you have not visited this location before it is treat for those who appreciate the “real” Florida, those who enjoy learning about the history of the Gulf Coast of Florida, nature lovers, and those of us who contain all those attributes.

The entire cache series at Crowley can be referenced at the "Geocaching at Crowley" page at (visit link)

This is a micro cache and only contains a log book so bring your own pen. Be sure to re-hide it as well as you found it making sure it’s securely in place and closed tightly. If there are any muggles around they will be there for the nature, the caches or the history (or they will be working there) so be on your best of stealth if necessary.

Enjoy the cache and the facility,
IMPG
