One of the coolest sites in Montgomery County. Located in the Forest Glen area, was part of the U.S. Army Walter Reed Annex, but totally accessible by the public. Parking and access are a bit difficult with construction. Read logs for the latest and best approaches.
This magical place is rich in history, and visual interest. A favorite for almost every cacher who visits (just read the logs). Some of the buildings on-site date back to the 1880s, with most built prior to 1940s. It started as a housing development, then a hotel was built. Later it became a Women's finishing college, and then during World War II, The US Army Annexed it to be a rehabilitation hospital for soldiers. Currently it is being restored and used as residential condos and apartments. To learn more about the site's history, tour availability, and more, visit: http://www.saveourseminary.org As for the cache, the container is a medium size peanut butter jar. Parking is difficult as most of the spaces are reserved. Please be respectful of the residents. Give yourself some time to explore this amazing location. Please be careful retrieving and replacing the container. GPSR's tends to jump around a lot, Let your geosense be your guide.
