La Casa Golferichs

CAT - La Gran Via de Barcelona és un dels eixos més importants de la ciutat, i hi conviuen tot tipus d'edificacions, des de les més modernes, passant per edificis del 1900, com és el cas de la Casa Golferichs, més coneguda com El Xalet , situada a la cantonada de la Gran Via amb el carrer Viladomat. Ja en la seva època va destacar per la seva formidable aspecte, molt treballat i amb reminiscències gòtiques. El seu arquitecte va ser J. Rubió i Bellver, qui va rebre l'encàrrec de crear una cosa única i diferent per Macari Golferichs, el 1900.Amb el temps va deixar de ser residència particular ia punt va estar, durant la Guerra Civil, d'esdevenir una Universitat Popular, tot i que finalment es va convertir en una escola religiosa. Amb el temps, van voler enderrocar per construir-hi pisos, però l'Associació de veïns i altres entitats del barri es van oposar completament.
