Because of the wildlife flooding area to the surrounding south, this cache could be difficult to impossible to approach from the east. Coming from the west can be just as bad if you hit some of the swampy areas. The north end is private property. Avoid crossing the fence lines in that direction.
The best way to get there is to park at the dam site lot at N 42 28.979 / W 83 58.067 This is at the jog in Bentley Lake Road. From the parking area, walk west around the pond and head north. Follow a path for an easier walk or be prepared to climb up and down several hills and cross swampy wetlands. It’s about a half to one mile hike following the paths.
This area is full of turkeys, deer and other wildlife because of the surrounding wetlands. Listen and watch for them. Because this is an open hunting area, do not disturb the hunters in season!
Mushrooms also abound when the weather is right.
The cache is between in a jagged top waist high hollow tree stump. See the accompanying cache picture.
The cache is a gallon screw top plastic container painted dull brown with a green lid.
