This cache is in the middle of a very busy tourist area, so I
thought a virtual would be best. At the coordinates you should see
a green object, covered in words. What you need to find is
Dr. Boggis' (real) name, and then email me the three words that
surround it (one above, one to the left, one below) to log the
cache. If you forgot to look for his name before getting to the
cache, it's the only 4-letter male name on the box. Good luck,
enjoy the view!
A
photo taken and altered by
MissJenn shows the front of the object, and the reason for it
being there, as told to her and
TaranWanderer by a local, while they were scrutinising it to
log the cache. This is a vague description of the story, so if
anyone knows any more details, please post a note or email me -
I've looked fairly extensively online but can't find any more
details. The object commemorates a local body-surfer, David C
Freeman, who died some years ago (I don't know when). His name
reads vertically on the front of the box, as shown in MissJenn's
picture. The other words are related to surfing, lifeguards, the
ocean, and friendship. Apparently local regulations prohibit
putting up an obvious memorial, so they got around the regulations
with a bit of creativity!
