Geocache Description:

Ricky lives in a well kept Birdhouse at the gateway to Oxley common. The only catch is YOU have to figure out how to get in…

Located off Sherwood Road, near the Brisbane and Rocklea markets, Oxley Creek Common is the gateway to an expanse of green space and home to many bird species. Despite the Common’s urban location just 7 km from the Brisbane CBD, one quarter of Australia’s native bird species have been spotted onsite, along with migratory birds from as far away as Japan and Russia. The large open space hosts significant wetlands and is bounded on two sides by Oxley and Stable Swamp Creeks, which together provide habitats for diverse bird species. Both the Secret Forest Walk and the Pelican Island Walk branch off from the trailhead at Oxley Creek Common. The common also has many trails that are suitable for walking or cycling. It is also home to a few types of Caches so I highly recommend you to prepare for an extended visit on either foot or bike, involving some of the most beautiful scenery in Brisbane.

THE CACHE:

The cache host is a birdhouse puzzle of which you must figure out how to get to the logbook. Inside contains a couple scribble sticks (If you forgot) and you will find swag on the inside of the host and in a little Sistema. It also contains the FTF prize as well as trackbables. The logbook itself is well… In some relation of a bison tube and Ricky… The bison tube is quite small so if you have trouble getting the log out, feel free to bring tweezers. PLEASE BE SAFE while climbing the tree.

Whilst visiting, please make sure to cherish the beautiful scenery, plantation and livestock! (If you’re lucky) If you continue your visit beyond this cache, please perform CITO if need be to keep this hidden gem safe. This cache also involves a tree climb, so please be safe while figuring this one out. Unfortunately, I do have to say no name in logbook = no find, as we have to keep it fair. I hope you can enjoy your visit as much as I do and I hope you can figure it out! This is my first cache so I am quite excited! Happy Caching!

FTF honours go to... Beardman75!
Coolabah… OUT!!!
