Geocache Description:

I recently discovered a couple of special places at the south-eastern end of Brisbane's South Bank Parklands so I have chosen these for this Virtual.

At the Posted Co-ordinates there is a statue of Confucius which is in the Epicurious garden - an edible garden designed to educate and inspire visitors. You can explore the garden and see what fresh produce looks, feels and smells like. The garden is 1500m2 and is made up of 30 beds and some pots. It has interpretive signage along with links to recipes.

The statue of Confucius was donated to the people of Queensland by the Ji'nan Municipal Government, Shandong Province, People's Republic of China, to mark Queensland's 150th birthday and unveiled in December 2009. Confucius (Qiu Zhong Ni) was a great thinker, philosopher, educator and founder of the Confucianism of Chinese thought and also a famous man of world culture.

The extra waypoint is at Negan's Secret Pier which has marvellous views of the Brisbane River and the city skyline and you often have the place to yourself. I don't know the history of the name but found it on Google Maps. It is also very close to the excellent Queensland Maritime Museum.

To claim this virtual as a find, there are two things you need to do - one at each waypoint.

One is for you to take a photo of yourself (or part thereof) or your geocaching name etc with Confucius and post the photo in your log. Optional for your log is to say if you discovered a new plant in the garden or anything special there.

At the other waypoint, Negan's Secret Pier, there is a lamp post with a sticker which has a barcode and a number beneath it. Please message me what that number is. An optional extra is to take a photo of the view from there.

After you have sent me the number, then you can log this virtual as a find. If there are any problems, I will let you know.
