Down the Hill was, until relatively recently, simply a corner road between a cluster of horse paddocks, a nearby radio broadcast tower, not far from the Gateway Motorway. As Nudgee has grown, the paths have widened, houses popped up and horses moved closer towards the railway line. In 2020, this corner was linked to the Gateway Bikeway.
