Hosted by: Team Shurtle and the GGA
When: April 18th from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm
What: April is CITO month and the GGA is hosting several events around the state. Today we are teaming up with Panola Mountain State Park to help clean up the trails.
Event: Meet us at the Nature Center/Park Office at Panola Mountain State Park to begin our volunteer trash pick up program. We will be focusing on the paved portion of the PATH inside the park unless otherwise directed. The park will provide trash bags and bottled water. We ask that you bring gloves and trash grabbers and wear comfortable clothes and shoes. Sun screen and bug spray may be useful as well. While face masks are not required, they are recommended as is the practice of social distancing. We look forward to meeting new friends and seeing old ones as well. Please leave a "will attend" log so we can get a good head count for the event.
Additional: There is a $5 parking fee required to enter the park unless you have a State Park Pass. Be sure to check out the Parks event calendar as this park offers activities such as tree climbing lessons, archery, nature walks and more.
Bonuses: 1. Earn the CITO 2021 Season 1 souvenir by attending a CITO event through August 31st. 2. There is a new Georgia State Park Tour geocache here. 3. Attendance at any GGA event automatically makes you a member of the GGA, which is the oldest active geocaching organization in the world!
