These coordinates will take you to one of the entranceways of an
edifice which was built to be the headquarters/home of a well-known
local enterprise. The structure was completed in 1925. It features,
on the ground level of three of its exterior walls, fragments from
famous buildings and historic sites around the world -- a total of
136 of them! In some cases, these fragments were gifts. In other
instances, it was the enterprise’s staff, on assignment abroad, who
gathered and presented these items to their esteemed leader.
Logging this cache requires that you post a photo of one of the
fragments, along with the name of the site where it came from --
we’re including a photo that we took to give you the idea of what’s
needed. It is not necessary to have a GPS unit nor yourself in the
picture. Each hunter may log only one find -- and we recognize
there may be more hunters than relics.
While it may be quick and easy, once you get to the coords, to
photograph a find and move on to another geo-hunt, we created this
cache in the hope that hunters would take some time to appreciate
the history represented at this site.
DATELINE: 24 October 2006 ... in just over four years, this
cache has had 499 logs. Next visitor will be #500! A true milestone
for one of our favorite places in downtown Chicago. Oh, yeah, the
prize for being #500 is a virtual $1,000,000!
