Fort Davis was built to serve as an outer defense of the City of Washington and was named in honor of Benjamin F. (Grimes) Davis, killed at the Battle of Brandy Station. It was a small hexagonal fort with a perimeter of 220 yards, and places for 11 guns. (Source: Wikipedia)
The Fort Davis Community Center is located in Ward 7 and is a beacon of light in the Fort Davis neighborhood. This 2 story facility is fitted with cozy program areas for classes that include afternoon access, zumba and hand dancing. Fort Davis is committed to providing recreation and leisure opportunities to the community.
