Geocache Description:

A pretty little suburban park in Aspley.

There are entrances from several adjacent streets including Agnew Street and Croker Street.

Our GPSr showed a great variation near the cache. The published coordinates are the result of averaging many different readings.

Please hang the cache back on the hook provided.

This little park is notable for the bird life. The Lorikeets which give the park its name are almost always present. Others we have seen include Pale Headed Rosellas, Noisy Miners (Mickeys), Little Corellas, Common (Indian) Mynas, Magpie-Larks (Peewees), Willie Wagtails, Crows, (Pacific Black?) Ducks, (Little?) Egrets, Australian White Ibises and Crested Pigeons. Only occasionally glimpsed, because they are very shy and mainly stay hidden in the greenery around the creeks, is a family we believe may be Rails. If you observe other species or can improve on our identification a note in your log would be welcome.

There is a children's playground in the park.

This traditional cache replaces two previous caches. GC4THK5 Flown Rainbows was visited 115 times in 22 months from December 2013 but the hiding place was insufficiently secure. The multicache GC1MMNY Flying Rainbows required an offset calculation which may have made it less popular. It was found 73 times in 56 months from February 2009.
