31
There has to be something interesting about the number 31. According to a well known online source of information, I found out that 31 is:
- The number of musical triads (12 major, 12 minor, 3 diminished, and 4 augmented)
- The number of days in the months January, March, May, July, August, October and December
- The code for international direct-dial phone calls to the Netherlands
- Thirty-one, a card game
- A type of game played on a backgammon board
- ISO 31, the ISO standard for quantities and units
- In the title of the anime Ulysses 31
- In the title of Nick Hornby's book 31 Songs
- A women's honorary at The University of Alabama (XXXI)
- The number of the French department Haute-Garonne
- In music, 31-tone equal temperament is a historically significant tuning system (31 equal temperament), first theorized by Christian Huygens and promulgated in the 20th century by Adriaan Fokker
Note that I removed one bullet to preserve a sense of propriety. Oh those Turks!

Some decent ale to be had in this place |
Well now. If all that reading has made you thirsty you might visit the Lytton Arms at Old Knebworth for refreshment. A fine country pub with a wide selection of real ales and at least two menus with a specials board. There is a beer garden at the back if the weather is kind.
The event starts at 8pm. There shall be no quiz or prizes but I'd be interested if anyone comes up with a more interesting connection to the number 31.
