Yes, this is a optional geotour as well as a multi, so I have given you a bunch of waypoints to cool stuff, but the instructions to earn a smiley requires a signature on the second stage. Several finders apparently are so concerned about a smiley that they just run to the final instead of taking the tour. Don't, lest ye get deleted.
The purpose of this Multi Jeek and Geo-Tour is to share with you the wonders of Shinob Kibe, the historical and sacred mountain of the ancient Paiute Indians. In addition to getting a smilie, I hope you derive much enjoyment and learn a lot of fascinating information. If you have any suggestions about how I could make this Geo-Tour better, please let me know.
The first stage has the coordinates to the second stage, but I recommend you read the description carefully, drive to the recommended parking, and review the Geo-Tour info, because if you head right on out to the second stage you will be passing up a lot of fascinating history and points of interest. Your hike from parking to second stage, then to final stage, then back to parking, will be about 2 miles (see map below). Please replace the first stage exactly as found, I like to see it as I drive by.
WHAT TO DO IF YOU WANT TO TAKE THE OPTIONAL GEO-TOUR:
Follow the instructions below for a guided tour of the sacred mountain of Shinob Kibe:
Read through this description page, look at the pics, print the pics if desired, download the waypoints below.
Take lots of pics on your hike.
Review the maps, history, pics, videos, and logs at the website www.ShinobKibe.info (Be sure to click the "about" link)

Park at the trailhead parking at the corner of Paiute and Blackhawk near
the white fence at n37 07.383 w113 29.484
Clear your GPS tracks and trip info so you are starting with fresh data.
Always waypoint your car!
Follow the main trail from the trailhead to Head Rock at n37 07.296 w113 29.437 where the trail actually starts.
Just before you get to Head Rock, be sure to find and sign the nearby "Shinob Kibe Trailhead Jeek" (http://coord.info/GC2K4ZM) .
"Head Rock", about 1,000 feet from where you waypointed your car.
Continue up to Intersection Point at n37 07.188 w113 29.474. At this point you are actually on private property that belongs to the residents below
who have been kind enough to allow this trail to go onto their property for your enjoyment. Turning left to go uphill will take you to your next stop.
Turning right and going downhill will get you arrested, and annoy the nice neighbors and make their dogs bark, and showcase your lack of respect and rudeness.
Intersection Point. Go left and up to the top, not down to Trespass Land.
Continue to CWCCW Fork at n37 07.133 w113 29.388 , going right will take you around the bluff in a counter clockwise direction,
this is the way you will be coming down, so bear left and continue to the Medicine Wheel spur.
The Medicine Wheel Spur is a short trail which leaves the main trail at n37 07.080 w113 29.314.
From this point, navigate the short unbeaten (so far) trail to the Medicine Wheel at n37 07.093 w113 29.290.
Medicine Wheel up on Shinob Kibe. If you look carefully in this pic, you can see the very old layout of overgrown rocks in the shape of a
20 foot diameter wheel with six spokes. These Medicine wheels were used for healing by the Paiute Indians. (If you look carefully on Google Earth, you can see the wheel!)
Then take the spur right back to the main trail, turn left and continue up.
The Concrete Navigational Arrow, the Shinob Kibe Summit, The Dog Bowl, and the Summit Register that you can sign if you like are at
n37 07.048 w113 29.257. From here, you can take a breather and some pics for uploading to www.ShinobKibe.info,
as well as enjoying the 360 degree view. Before you set off east toward Hawk Overlook, be sure to find and sign the nearby
"Shinob Kibe Cache" (http://coord.info/GC15C4).
The Register and Logbook
The Navigational Arrow. Much more info about these mysterious arrows can be found
on the description page of "The Shinob Kibe Cache". (http://coord.info/GC15C4) (Thanks to "Astounding" for the informative links)
The Natural Dog Bowl. (Always bring water for your dog... and yourself!)
Follow the cliff trail to Hawk Overlook at n37 07.073 w113 29.167, on the way, look for hawks circling, floating and gliding
on the air currents or sitting on Hawk Overlook, over looking their domain. How many hawks did you see?
To the north you can see Pine Mountain and Hellhole Canyon
To the northeast, you can see the Virgin River Trail.
To the east, you can see Sand Mountain and the Virgin River flowing from Zion.
To the southsoutheast, you can see Washington Dome and Seegmiller Peak.
To the southwest you can see Nichols Peak and Mount Bangs.
Continue east to the first stage jeek at n37 07.093 w113 29.115. Find it, sign it, replace it. Retrace your steps past the arrow and on to the survey marker.
The Second Stage Jeek. (Under black fence post cap behind GPS)
Survey marker at n37 07.031 w113 29.352. Look at it and go "ooooo a survey marker".
Survey Marker
Turn around, and right behind you, you will see "Standing Rock" at n37 07.024 w113 29.351. Stand on it if you like.
I hear the ancients did it and were rewarded with visions of grandeur and a desire to take their betrothed to "Lover's Cave".
Standing on Standing Rock.
Looking at Standing Rock from above.
Hop down and around the next big pile of rocks to behold Lover's Cave at n37 07.032 w113 29.372.
Legend says many braves and squaws had to get married because of this cave.
Gracie by the entrance to Lovers Cave, she thinks it should be called Shady Rest Cave.
Continue following the trail clockwise keeping the cliff on your left, drop down onto the lower flat and stand at the coordinates
n37 07.092 w113 29.446 and look up and you will see the image of Chief Winnimucca of the Paiutes in full head dress.
Chief Rock.
The final stage jeek is located in the cliff directly under Chief Rock. Walk toward Ground Zero at n37 07.101 w113 29.436
look at the spoiler pic because as you know, satellite readings are sketchy when you are standing right next to a cliff.
Find it, sign it, replace it. Now you can e-log this jeek and get the well deserved smiley and give a Favorite Point.
The Final jeek is behind the GPS
The best way to get back to the descent trail is to backtrack and ascend toward the cave until you can easily bear left and find the clockwise trail.
(You can continue north or just go straight up, but either is more difficult) Turn right toward CWCCW Fork when you get to N37 07.100 W113 29.420, then left at the main trail, then hike back to your waypointed car.
Be sure to log your adventure and post your pics to this description page as well as on
the Shinob Kibe website at www.ShinobKibe.info
Take care, have fun.
