Formerly farmland, both arable and pasture, Milton Country Park owes much of its present appearance to the extraction of sand and gravel for the building of roads and houses from about 1930 to 1960. However, the first material taken from the site was clay, in much smaller quantities, by Romano British potters about 1800 years previously - hence the name of this cache. :o)
This is a small->medium-sized cache, initially containing a few swappables. This cache is very simply to find, although you'll need to be wary of muggles – a previous cache in the park has been archived, having disappeared a couple of times.
Note that whilst the paths leading to the cache are wheelchair accessible, the last few metres are not.
Many thanks to the Cambridge Sports Lake Trust, who manage the park, for permission to place this cache. Entry to the park is free: if you enjoy your visit, please consider supporting the park by visiting the café, or paying the modest parking fee if you come by car.
