Geocache Description:

Something that has intrigued me since I've started caching is the pronunciation of the word "cache" (and "caching", "cachers", etc..). There seems to be two interpretations on how to pronounce the word cache - either "CAYSH" or "CASH". I prefer the first way, but many others prefer the second way.

Now to the cache (however you pronounce it!). This cache is located in an area called Cash's Crossing in Albany Creek. If you pronounce "cachers" the second way, you'll understand why I called the cache what I did! :) This place is named after the first settler in this area, James Cash. He built a hut somewhere near here in 1849, and soon Albany Creek had dairy farms and timber cutting occurring in the area.

These days, Cash's Crossing is a place where people come to swim, kayak and fish. Beware the freshwater stonefish (also known as Bullrouts) though - they are known to exist in the water down here (I know from personal experience - ouch!).

This cache is a micro, but should not be too hard to find.

Best place to park is down beside the bridge, which you can get to via James Cash Court (fittingly!). After you park, there is a short walk along the path under the bridge to the cache location.

BYOP, and a log extraction tool (ie. tweezers) would be very helpful!

NOTE: I do NOT recommend this one at night, if you get too close to the edge of the trees closest to the river, there are some steep drop-offs. Do not go near the edge - the cache is nowhere near the edge, so no need to go close to it!

As always, good luck!

Congratulations to membsec for FTF honours!
