Inleiding
De wandeling is ruim 10 Km lang en gaat over onverharde bospaden door de landgoederen Bornia en Heidestein.
Het is verstandig om deze cache met meerdere mensen te lopen ,gebleken is dat alleen lopers er toch erg veel moeite mee hebben deze cache tot een goed einde te brengen want veel ogen zien meer dan 2.Tevens genoeg water mee nemen want je zult tijdens de wandeling niks tegen komen.
Honden zijn toegestaan mits aangelijnd. Echter in het afgeschermde heide gebied niet toegestaan dus een stukje omlopen.
Graven of prikstokken zijn niet nodig alles ligt op handbereik.
Behandel de cache alsof hij van je zelf is en laat hem achter zoals je hem gevonden hebt

Landgoederen Heidestein, Bornia en Noordhout
De landgoederen Heidestein, Bornia en Noordhout vormen tezamen het grootste aaneengesloten natuurgebied van Het Utrechts Landschap. Het uitgestrekte gebied wordt gekenmerkt door naald- en gemengde bossen met heidevelden, stuifzanden en akkerlanden.
Grensgebied
In 1870 kwam een stuk grond op de grens van Driebergen en Zeist in eigendom van J.J. Uyterwerff Sterling. Hij gaf het nieuwe landgoed de naam Bornia. Bornia is een oud Fries woord voor grensgebied (vergelijkbaar met het Engelse border). In 1894 werd het bezit opgedeeld en hierdoor ontstond in het noordelijk deel Heidestein. Landgoed Bornia bestond destijds grotendeels uit zandverstuivingen. Daarvan zijn er nu slechts enkele over, maar de sporen zijn nog zichtbaar in de vorm van opvallend reliëf. In het bos liggen op enkele plaatsen verweerde, oude ‘perronnetjes’. Dit zijn overblijfselen van het smalspoorlijntje tussen de zandput op Heidestein en een kalkzandsteenfabriek bij het Haagje, een zijweg van de Arnhemse Bovenweg.
Herinneringen aan het verleden
Landgoed Heidestein dankt zijn naam aan het landhuis dat de familie De Wetstein Pfister in 1906 liet bouwen. De naam Heidestein was in die tijd voor de hand liggend, omdat het grootste deel van het gebied met heide begroeid was. Overigens bestond in deze tijd vrijwel de gehele Utrechtse Heuvelrug uit een boomloos, glooiend landschap met uitgestrekte heidevelden en zandverstuivingen. Op Heidestein is daar inmiddels nog geen tien procent van over, wat overeenkomt met het areaal heide op de Heuvelrug als geheel. Om deze heide te behouden, zijn Drentse heideschapen ingezet. Door hun begrazing wordt het dichtgroeien van de heide met bomen en struiken voorkomen. Vele diersoorten , waaronder een grote populatie zandhagedissen, profiteren hiervan. Op Heidestein bevinden zich behalve de heide ook nog andere herinneringen aan het verleden zoals het historische theehuis, de duistere wandeltunnels en de vijver met zijn mysterieuze groene waterkleur.
Opmerkelijke variatie
Noordhout is één van de weinige plekken op de Utrechtse Heuvelrug die in de negentiende eeuw al bebost waren. Hierdoor is de begroeiing ouder dan de bossen in de directe omgeving. Het beheer op landgoed Noordhout is erop gericht dat natuurlijke processen hun gang kunnen gaan. Dit komt het best tot uiting in het bosreservaat waar helemaal niet beheerd wordt. Op deze plek mag de natuur dus volledig haar eigen weg volgen. Het bosreservaat is niet toegankelijk voor publiek, de rest van Noordhout wel. De historische akkers van Noordhout worden ecologisch beheerd. Zeldzame akkerkruiden en bijzondere zwammen krijgen daardoor de kans om te groeien tussen de gewassen.

Introduction
The walk is approximately ten kilometers long and will be along unpaved forest roads through the estates of Bornia and Heidestein.
It's recommended to bring enough water to drink, because there will be no opportunities to buy any during the walk.
Moreover, it’s wise to walk the cache with others. It has been found that the cache is too difficult to walk alone. You can bring your dog, but only if you leash it. Dogs aren't allowed in the shielded heath, so dog-owners will have to make a small detour. All the waypoints are along the roads, though you will need to leave the road for the cache.
You also won't need prods since everything is within arm's reach.
Treat the cache as if it's your own and please leave everything as you found it.

Estates Heidestein, Bornia and Noordhout
De estates of Heidestein, Bornia and Noordhout together form the largest patch of nature in Utrecht. The broad area is characterized by coniforous and mixed forests with heaths, shifting sands and croplands. Border area In 1870, a piece of land on the border of Driebergen and Zeist got in the ownership of J.J. Uyterwerff Sterling. He named this new estate 'Bornia'. Bornia is an old Frieze word for 'border area' (Bornia sounds like border). At the time, Bornia consisted mostly of shifting sands. Only a few of these remain today, but the traces are still visible in remarkable relief. In 1894, the estate was divided. Then Heidestein was created in the northern part. In the forest you can find some old 'train platforms'. These are remains of an old railway between Heidestein and Het Haagje.
Remembrance of the past
Estate Heidestein is named after the manor house that was built by the family De Wetstein Pfister, in 1906. The name Heidestein was obvious at the time, because the area was mainly filled with heaths ('heide' means heath in Dutch). Besides, most of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug consisted of a forestless, sloping area with vast heaths and shifting sands at the time. In Heidestein, less than ten percent of this nature remains today. To retain the heaths that are still left, sheep from Drenthe are used. Because of their grazing, the overgrowing of the heaths is prevented. A lot of animal species, including a large population of sandlizards benefit from this. On Heidestein you can also find other reminders of the past: the historical teahouse, the dark pedestrian tunnel and the pond with its mysterious green color.
Remarkable variation
Noordhout is one of the few places in the Utrechtse Heuvelrug that was already a forest in the nineteenth century. This is why the vegetation in Noordhout is older than in surrounding areas. The goal of the forest's management is to refrain from disturbing the natural processes in the forest. This is most clearly reflected in the forest reserve, where there is no management whatsoever. In this reserve, nature can go its own way. The forest reserve isn't open to public, but the rest of Noordhout is. The historical fields are managed ecologically. Because of this management, rare field herbs and special fungi get a chance to grow among the other vegetation.
