GLASSY BEACH is located at the east end of the Town of Springdale,
just past the graveyard. You can drive to within 100 meters of the
cache and then hike the trail for 3-5 mins to get to the beach. THE
GLASS IS COMPLETELY SMOOTH AND PERFECTLY SAFE ENOUGH TO WALK ON
WITH BAR FEET EVEN.
Rumors are that a
garbage dump once was located at this location more than 50 years
ago and the glass was dumped down over the side of the hill and
over time was smoothed by the surf and the small rocks.
PLEASE DONT REMOVE ANY GLASS FROM THE LOCATION AS THE TOWN IS
TRYING TO PROTECT THIS AS A LOCAL HERITAGE
SITE!
