Surely anyone in the southeast Wisconsin area has heard about the gruesome story of Alastair Paine, his sickly rash deeds, and his own horrible demise? No?
Well then...
Alastair Paine was a lonely sick man, who grew up from a hostile deranged child. He liked to hide jars with dead bugs, and (parts of) creatures and tell the other children where to find a 'treasure'. (He delighted in the screams when his 'treats' were found.) He was never considered 'smart', in fact - as a child many adults attributed his 'games' to a simple-minded child - incapable of inventing something more 'appropriate'.
As he got older - he was distrusted, and generally disliked by his community and peers. With good reason. He had a number of sick, and twisted secrets.
He moved to a secluded lot, where he built his own small house/hut, and kept the various car pieces, and other things he coveted - often other people's trash, and refuse, and with little rhyme or reason. Among his tires, junk cars and boats, remnants, and other assorted rusted junk was where he was most comfortable, and that was where he committed his horrific crimes.
He was responsible for the death (and subsequent dismemberment) of 27 men and women, and is suspected of killing an additional 22 'missing persons'.
Unfortunately, he was amazing at hiding his tracks, and the evidence. Local police assume he took the pieces of the bodies and hid them, buried them, burned them, but - none were ever found. Every time he was brought in for questioning, or when the police came to his 'home' no evidence was to be found. Therefore, he was essentially untouchable.
The locals knew he was responsible, and came to fear and loathe him. After a popular local teen went missing - they took action. One night, about 15 men came while Alastair was sleeping - setting alight the cinder block 'room' where he slept. The wall collapsed in, and crushed his already charred body.
There were not enough remains of Alastair to be interred elsewhere. His body remained at the site.
However, his cinder block 'room' indeed held safe his secrets - until the locals came. Crammed in the holes between the blocks were clothing, jewelery, photos, and personal effects of the scores of his victims. And... a few bugs and small animals stuffed into jars for good measure.
Many locals are sure his ghost haunts the site, along with the ghosts of his many victims. The property is so feared that it has been essentially deserted, left as it was the night Alastair was killed.
When you visit, listen closely, and watch your step. This place holds many haunted memories.... and is perhaps haunted itself.
